Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Substitute with oats or ground almonds for gluten-free option.
  • 1/2 cup corn
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Toasting the garlic adds a kick.
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Cooking
  • Olive oil for cooking

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mash the black beans until smooth.
  2. Stir in cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, corn, chopped onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

These burgers keep well! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet.
