  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup almond milk or any plant-based milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the almond milk, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool before serving.

Notes

Serve with vegan chocolate ganache, dairy-free whipped cream, or sprinkle with chopped nuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container; lasts 3-4 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer.
