For the French Toast Bake
  • 12 pieces soft Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half and lay the bottom half in the dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the rolls in the dish.
  5. Top with the remaining half of the rolls.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best results.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Serve warm topped with fresh berries and drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

For the best flavor, let the dish sit overnight in the fridge before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
