Ingredients
  

For the meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef You can use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can be replaced with vegan cheese for a vegan option.
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley Fresh parsley is recommended for better flavor.
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Don't skip the garlic for flavor!
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the sauce and serving
  • 1 jar marinara sauce (24 ounces)
  • as needed cooked pasta or subs For serving, you can use spaghetti or toasted rolls for meatball subs.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs — about the size of golf balls.
Cooking
  1. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker and pour marinara sauce over them.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the meatballs are cooked through.
Serving
  1. Serve over cooked pasta or in subs for a delicious finale.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
