Samoa Pie

A decadent dessert combining chocolate, coconut, and caramel reminiscent of classic Girl Scout cookies.

Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 0.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Can substitute with white chocolate for a twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  3. Add the melted butter, egg, and vanilla, stirring until combined into a dough.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pie pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until set. Let it cool.
Topping
  1. Spread caramel sauce over the crust, then sprinkle shredded coconut on top.
  2. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler, then drizzle over the coconut layer.
  3. Allow to set before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve chilled or at room temperature. Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
