Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 1.5 cups almond flour
  • 0.25 cups cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cups maple syrup
  • 0.25 cups coconut oil (melted)
For the filling
  • 2 pieces ripe avocados The riper, the better for creaminess.
  • 0.5 cups cacao powder
  • 0.25 cups maple syrup (to taste) Adjust based on your sweetness preference.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Preparation of Crust
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and melted coconut oil until a dough forms.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of a tart pan to form the crust.
Preparation of Filling
  1. In a blender or food processor, combine ripe avocados, cacao powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Assembly and Chilling
  1. Pour the avocado filling over the crust and smooth the top.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve topped with fresh berries, a sprinkle of cocoa nibs, or a drizzle of coconut cream. This tart keeps well in the fridge for about 5 days, or it can be frozen for up to 3 months.
