Ingredients

Burger Ingredients
  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs gluten-free if needed
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked lentils and brown rice.
  3. Add the breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into burger patties.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  2. Optionally, transfer the patties to a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10 minutes for extra firmness.
  3. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For leftovers, store in the fridge for about 4–5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. For reheating, use a skillet or microwave. Experiment with spices and chill patties before cooking for better texture.
