Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Olive oil for frying
  • 4 Burger buns
  • as desired Toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mash the cooked lentils until smooth.
  2. Mix in breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Fry the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve the patties on burger buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for about 4 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer. Reheat in a skillet or oven for best results. For batch cooking, double the ingredients; they freeze beautifully!
