Main ingredients
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey (optional) Use maple syrup for a vegan substitute.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix gochujang, olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey (if using).
  3. Add broccoli florets to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly in the sauce.
  4. Spread the broccoli on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and browned.
  2. Remove from the oven, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For stronger flavor, add more gochujang. You can also add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety. Ensure broccoli is dry before tossing it in the sauce for better adherence. For a nuttier flavor, add chopped peanuts or cashews on top for crunch.
