Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
For the Topping
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup (for drizzling) Use as desired for drizzling.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the German chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Once the cake is done, let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
Topping
  1. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix coconut flakes and chopped pecans, then spread it evenly on top of the cake.
  3. Let it cool completely, then top with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup before serving.

Notes

Make sure to let the cake cool adequately for the condensed milk to absorb fully. Store in the fridge to maintain moisture, good for 3-5 days.
