Ingredients

  • 1 cup soaked chickpeas Soaked overnight
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 2 tsp dried coriander
  • 1 tsp dried cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes For a kick!
  • 1-2 tbsp flour For binding
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil For frying

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soak chickpeas overnight, then drain and dry them.
  2. In a food processor, blend chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, spices, and flour until finely ground.
  3. Chill the mixture in the fridge for at least an hour.
Cooking
  1. Heat avocado oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Form patties from the mixture and fry each side for about 5-8 minutes until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve on buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Tip: For best results, soak your chickpeas longer, adjust spice levels to your taste, and ensure frying oil is hot for crispy patties.
