- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
- Stir in breadcrumbs, corn, red onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Form the mixture into burger patties.
Cooking
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve on buns with your desired toppings.
Notes
For added heat, consider adding diced jalapeƱos or cayenne pepper. You can also swap black beans for chickpeas for a different flavor. If you're out of breadcrumbs, crushed tortilla chips work as a substitute. For freezing, lay the patties out in a single layer to prevent sticking.
