Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta (e.g., penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or onion powder

Method

Cooking
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot. Drain the pasta and broccoli.
  2. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  4. Gradually stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices to taste.
  6. Combine the pasta and broccoli with the cheese sauce. Stir until well coated.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy your comforting meal!

Notes

Timing is key: Don’t overcook the broccoli; you want it tender but still a bit crunchy. For an even creamier sauce, consider adding a bit of cream cheese or Greek yogurt. If you want to make it vegan, use plant-based cheese and swap heavy cream for coconut or almond milk.
