- In a large bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth.
- Add in the breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, and the egg.
- Shape the mixture into burger patties.
Cooking
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown.
Serving
- Serve the burgers on a warm bun with fresh lettuce, tomato, and spicy mayo, or on a bed of greens.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet or microwave. Adjust the recipe with chopped veggies for added texture or spices for more kick.
