Frying

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Grate, chop, or shred your selected vegetables and place them in a large bowl.
  2. In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and spices.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the bowl of vegetables. Add water to create a batter that holds together but is not too wet.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. When hot, take spoonfuls of batter and drop them into the oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
Serving
  1. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  2. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For optimal crispiness, serve warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
