Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds sirloin steak (or chicken/turkey) Can substitute with chicken or turkey.
  • 12 oz twisted pasta (rotini or fusilli)
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a vegan version, substitute with coconut cream.
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Don't skip for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For a lactose-free option, use nutritional yeast.
  • Olive oil for cooking Use extra virgin for best flavor.

Method

Cooking
  1. Boil salted water and add the twisted pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites and sear until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat in the same skillet and melt the butter. Stir in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. Let it simmer until it thickens slightly.
  4. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce, and fold in the grated Parmesan and the cooked steak bites.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. For freezing, it can hold up for 2-3 months. Reheat in the microwave or skillet; add a splash of cream or broth to restore richness.
