For the cake
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) For added crunch
  • whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving) To enhance the dessert

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the cherry pie filling evenly on the bottom.
  3. Add the drained crushed pineapple on top of the cherry filling.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit layer.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
  6. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

This dessert can be mixed with different flavors using various pie fillings. Serve it warm for a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
