  • 1/2 cup milk Any type of milk can be used.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Granulated sugar.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter Can substitute with coconut oil for vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
Filling Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) Nuts add a delightful crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, milk, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
Assembly
  1. Spread the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the surface, and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
  2. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other.
  3. Cut the roll into slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a fun twist, try swapping out bananas for pumpkin puree or adding chocolate chips. These rolls can be prepped the night before and baked in the morning.
